Saw a suv with one of those 1.5 ton military trailers in a Walmart parking lot - looked like they just pulled off the freeway. The lunnette was chained to the bumper and the bumper was almost dragging.
They are big and unhandy and the tongue is too high for a pw (and the bed/deck is too high for most hand-loading) but it can work. I dig a hole under the tongue-support wheel so I can deal with the hitch easier.
We have one with 11:00x20s that my dad pulled behind his WC all over the western states. It was the moving van and we moved a lot. My brother did the same thing with one that had 9:00x20s - dragged it from wa state to Denver and back with a stock m-37. They rigged up the trailer brakes. I think they were both crazy - but I use the trailers occasionally on the property behind a 1-ton Ihc and a PW. I keep them around because nobody wants to buy them, and theoretically my 1.5 ton IHC will be driving again, someday.
My place is really too steep for trailers anyway - I had a 101 that was perfect behind the m-37, but I didn’t use it much.
