Crazy stuff----
The east coast or carribean side
Of Costa. This swell has been
going on for 2 weeks over there

I was there for 4 days and basically
Went with some of the Costa Rica team and photographer. The photographer kept sending
Me the forecast 2.8 to 4.6m at 11 sec

Course they wanted to go in the ram 1500
So they twisted my arm

Several interesting things all came
Together

First a Russian rapper payed for the whole
Trip

He wants to be a big wave surfer but Is
Just learning. Has a few loose screws

2nd the swell

3rd Seth moniz and crew came over from
Hawaii, left Hawaii in the height of the
season and came to Limon

4th the c r photographer got the limon boys
Their boats and their skis etc. Basically
locally made Boston whalers each, 4 boats
each with 2 300 yamahaws

We traveled from Puerto moin to Isla uvita
Bout 20 nautical miles in opens seas with
wave heights mentioned above

Just the boat ride was harrowing

What I noticed is the coast there is a bottle neck to the wave direction and the waves
keep piling up on top of each other so every
Wave is like a double wave. There may be
Triple waves couple that with deep water
And coral reefs and you get s very heavy wave

I surfed the first day on the inside with most of the surfers. Their were only 5 or
Six on the middle point but no one on the
Point, not even the hawaianos. However
They and my boys got some incredible waves

They and the surf pretty much blew my mind

There were casualties but nobody died

Even tho I knew when I arrived at that coast for the first time in 1972 that there was
there was no need to look any further
