I would use heat and wax. Heat area just enough
melt wax very fluid. Do not over heat so wax tries to burn. Do not over heat to color change of shaft, ideal temp is no where near color change of steel.

Heat area, melt some candle wax and let it flow, then let it cool to room temp. Do this a few times and then tap out broken key
