Without the right setting tool and not knowing if the shoes have been ground to match the drums, I center the shoes as much as possible, checking by fitting removing the drum, then adjust the big adjusters until they just contact, then the small adjusters. You have to "feel" your way here because a minor adjustment can jam the linings against the drum if the shoes are undersize - if that makes sense. I would expect a man of your experience will soon get the gist of it Bill. hope this helps.
