I suppose some reassurance might come from knowing (assuming) that people who are into Ford flathead V-8's are having to reuse their rod bolts, unless they pony up for aftermarket rods (which are available for those engines). If I'm not mistaken, the original Ford flathead rods had integral bolts/studs that cannot be replaced, so you just have to take your chances with reusing them. And I suspect most people do that without any problems.
