The person mentioned who got caught on a cable with gloves was no doubt operating the winch to close. He was feeding cable up so close to the rotating drum, he had no time to get free. He was also, no doubt, operating by himself. Engaged the winch, drum rotating and then went up front with nobody in the truck to stop the winch in a emergency.
