I am looking in \Craig's and see an ad for a 4 inch hook, this hook is part of a double pulley system and is one nice unit. I figure I will buy the unit and cut off that ugly hook.
He wants 10 bucks for it and I see them new at around 150. So we meet up and he drops his tail gate and there is the hook - he cut up the pulley plates with his disc grinder. He was taking it to the recycler.
A nice old guy trying to be helpful - I did buy the remains but was laughing about the whole thing most of the way home.
Punchline - I let him keep the hook - he was quite happy with that transaction.
It was great meeting up with Marty and Steve yesterday. The best wiring in my truck is the stuff I did myself - the stuff that has failed? all of it came from a "kit"
