They make stock shear pins still. I think they are cast. I found them to be too weak. I was winching a blazer up an incline one time and my foot slipped off the clutch and the stock type one sheared instantly. after that I ran grade 5. I cant recall shearing a grade 5 but I believe it would if I was abusing the winch. I have never damaged an MU2 and used them 100s of times for work and play.
