Fire season is so slow in California this year that all the fire agencies agreed to forego the contract with the VVLAT, Very Very Large Air Tanker, and allow it to respond to Brazil and assist with the fires in the Amazon.

Just to give you an idea of just how slow it is here, last year at this time the State had burned 1 and a half MILLION acres. To the same point this year, we have burned 50 THOUSAND acres.
