Not worth the effort as you will never get it tight enough. When I put on new cable I lay it out in front of the truck then attach it to the spool then anchor the free end. Then I wind it up onto the spool dragging the truck up hill with the brakes applied. If the cable is not tight you will end up with a rats nest.
