What about “”loose” 3rd/4th and the larger 1st/2nd sliding gears on the main shaft?
The ones I had on there are “sloppy”
Tranny apart at the moment.
Im inspecting everything...I’m able to put either of those sliding gears on the main shaft, and wiggle it back and forth. They make a bit of “clacking” . Good smountbive movement on the splines.
I have another set in another tranny I just about wrote off.
These are near excellent as far as tightness on the main shaft.
Would loose shaft to sliding gear have attributed at least partly, some of the noises I’m hearing?
