My chain is 3/8 x 6 feet with a 7 ton swivel hook. You want a chain as close to the cable strength as you can get. If you use a snatch block you need to compensate for that and I do use a snatch block at times.
NOS chain/hook and cable lock are available from France, and pricey. MWM doesn't show chain/hook but John may have those.
