the complete VIN was stamped on the passenger side of block on a pad just above the oil pan for the 1969 year only. So you would see the XX code (500/Daytona). I tracked a Hemi Charger R/T back to Iowa using the VIN off a 426 block years ago, by doing a title history thru the DMVs. XS29J9B204898.
