It’s sad how car batteries have gone at a time when battery technology is miles ahead of where it was. I mean who’d have thought using a drill plugged into the wall would become virtually obsolete?
All that said & it’s rare to buy a battery that lasts 8-10 years which was the norm in the 80’s.
We had a local battery shop called Davidson Battery. I’d buy the cheapest battery they sold & they’d give my the single caps to push on the top & they virtually looked like a 60’s battery. Always lasted 8 years even in the cold.
Of course they were bought up & shut down & now we have parts stores with kids that have no idea even what’s inside them that sell them to us.
It’s sad times in the Auto parts world unless you buy straight from the dealer.
Actually don’t get me started on that! A few years ago I bought a used Viper. The battery was weak & so I dropped it at the Dodge dealer to install a new one while it was on my trailer. It’s located in a hard to get area behind the rear tire. They installed one alright...a Delhi!!!
I made them take it out :)
