Does anyone know if the newer short type voltage regulators can be used to replace the older tall type. This is the regulator that works with the 25 amp generator. The truck starts and runs, but the amp guage fluxuates rapidly, and the batteries begin to smoke. Figure this must be a regulator problem. Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a great New Year
