Howdy Other Ross, If it was mine, I'd pull them out, clean 'em with spray brake cleaner and clean the holes the same way. If they are studs ( threads on both ends) I would see if they feel like a good match to the holes, are the threads worn on studs? are the holes sort of wallered out? then if good and studs then I would replace them using a stud setter, you may not have one and might have to use the old shade tree thing of using double nuts to put them in. If I knew that they were in TIGHT the first time then I would use a thread locker such as Locktite red or blue. Again, holes and threads need to be clean and dry. That will keep them tight. It's more a thing of "feel" for me. You could look up or ask around for the recommended torque values for the specified size and thread pitch of your studs or bolts, whichever they are. Remember though, that to remove the studs later will take more effort and may require heating around the hubs to get them loose. With a little heat the locktite turns into powder basically and becomes usless, in other words they will come right out.
Did you hear about the guy who took his pet to the vet because it was sick? The receptionist at the vets looked at the guy holding the pet and went and told the doc" I think the man waiting outside has a dead animal" The vet told her to send him in. The vet examined the animal and pronounced it dead and gave him a bill for $50.00. The guy got upset and said that was to much for just sticking a stethoscope on his pet,he wanted more tests and a second opinion. So the vet brought in a Labredor and set him up ther and he sniffed around and the vet put him back. Then he brought in a cat and he sniffed aroud the dead pet also. The vet put the cat away and sat down and wrote out a new bill for $450.00. What's This? the guy holled. Well, the extra charges are for the Lab work and the Cat scan. Hope the stud thing works out for you. Chris H.
