Happened to me on my 2002 Dodge Ram 2500. Had a Dana 60 in the rear with sure grip differential. Something happened to the good ol crush sleeve and bingo! Lost the pinion bearing!
What a dumb way to set contact pattern between pinion gear and ring gear though!
Got to crush a semi soft metal sleeve in the hopes it will keep holding and running at that special setting for 100,000, 200,000 or 300,000 miles!! Aint gonna make it Jack!
