on a dyno they make all there power at higher rpms.
a wedge or hemi feel different when compared to a poly.
a wedge or hemi doesn't have near the low end torque a poly does but wedge and hemi have superior high end power and can wind up higher. I have read hemis are good for 10K rpms if the rest will hold together.
you can read stuff written by the engineers that designed all that stuff back then on allpar.om. they talk about why they went away from the poly head and went to wedge for more rpms and away from hemis to save money
