Brake pedal travel

1950 Power Wagon
So I�ve gone through the brakes, wheel cylinders, master cylinder, new shoes on the front and 4 miles of brake lines ;-).
Pretty sure I got all the air out.
What should the pedal travel be? It goes several inches before it stops, about 4 inches from the floor. It seems firm and I can tell the wheel cylinders are working. It is still on jack stands but pretty sure it would stop. Just seems to me that the pedal goes too far down.
