Cliff Mass is a very respected weather professor at University of Washington. I listen to him every Friday. He is the most level headed weather person out there. Last week he said people are blaming the cold weather that we had this week was caused by global warming. He said absolutely not. This is a typical weather event for this area. Then he stated what the global warming aspect of this is that there are fewer of these cold events than in the 50s and 60s. That is the result of global warming.

I remember that in the late 80s we had 20” of snow here in January which stayed on the ground for a week which is unheard of around here. Then in February that same year we had another 20” of snow which stayed for a week. That made it a highly unusual winter here.
