I came close to buying my neighbors ‘01 quadcab for a measly $8k today. I drive beaters so that feels like big money. Ha. 218k miles but clean and well-maintained, one owner. But reading up on the CAD front axle and the 4speed auto and associated computer problems that seem common - I think I talked myself out of it. Could be upgraded as needed when things wear out but that could run another $15k and lots of work over the next few years.
The later trucks at $25k+ start looking like a bargain, kind of.
