I like the old sliding coupler on steering. never seen one worn out. my last d300 was loaded to the gills with gravel and towing trailer for decades and probably 300K and coupler was like new. it could be worse you could have a gm. same american axle diff but in an aluminum two piece housing. hit the throttle in reverse and the front diff explodes. my buddy gave up after the 3rd one blew and sold the truck
