For trucks built in 1951 and later with the four gauges in the center of the dash I find the gauge color is determined by year of production not anything else. The trucks up to 1955 C1 have chrome bezels and the 1955 C3 and up trucks use painted bezels. The bezel paint color changes over time from a nearly white beige to darker colors.
