It's funny you are having problems with the Ford bearings, they seem to be gaining acceptance on some pretty serious off road rigs. I know the f550 bearings are popular and that that people seem to be installing them in 3/4 and 1 ton axles. I am not sure what it takes or how different they really are. With that said I have seen schematics and the bearing spacing between inboard and outboard looks too close on all the unibearings I have seen and even the dynatrack setup looks like less spacing than an older d60. Not sure that is critical for weight carrying but the moment would be higher for any side loading.
