I always had very good luck with the e-brakes on my '01 Dodge....actually, the brakes in general are the only thing I miss about that truck. They did not work well when I bought it, but I soon found that the linings were completely shot and one side was metal on metal, I would assume the PO had left the brake on for quite some time.
When I replaced the rear rotors, I noticed that the new rotors had a much thicker cross section than the OEM ones that were on it...not to mention a very aggressive hone on the inside surface, new shoes and rotors and they held like it was in park.
