Niether my Chevy 3/4 ton or a friend's 1 ton Dodge with the drum in the rotor work well enough to trust holding the truck. He had a dealer and an independent shop adjust it and his gets better but not great. I have tried all sorts of adjustment with mine. I remember it held really well for the first 30-40k and never adequate since then. I always carry a wheel chock or two and have given up. The shoes look fine and I replaced most of the cable about a year ago when one broke. I am not impressed with the drum in a disk.
