If your talking a ffPW or WC they used wood blocks between the frame and body. I replaced mine with high density plastic blocks that I made. The wood ones rot with time and absorb water and that puts wet wood against metal. I also replaced my running board blocks with ones that I made out of the same material. They work great. I have a rust free truck, but I had to replace the running board brackets as they were badly rusted on the inside surface from the wood bocks trapping and holding water against the metal. The out side surfaces of the brackets were rust free as the rest of the truck.

Plastic blocks don’t absorb any moisture so problem solved.
