1947 WDX Power Wagon

This WDX was bought new by the Army Corps of Engineers in Colorado, however while still new it was classified surplus and sold to a Mr. JR Hennessey who owned a hunting and fishing and skiing lodge at Twin Lakes near Leadville Colorado. The original lodge insignia is still visually on both doors. In 1990, Mr. Hennessey fell ill, and was transported in this truck to the hospital in Pueblo Colorado, where he passed not long after. The vehicle was left out back of a residence where we spotted it. We did only minor repairs, and brought it back to life.

This truck is remarkable in it has virtually no rust. The original patina on the body is so extensive that it now protects the steel of the body. The blue paint in the interior of the cab is not a common color.

The full host of options are: heater, dual sunvisors, cigarette lighter, winch, and driver's door armrest.
A luxury Power Wagon for its time, the truck is as close to a barn find that you can find, and is 100% original and in running order. We dare not restore it, but keep it for all it’s glory in its original patina.

This is a rare to find an original, in working order, unmolested truck with all matching numbers The spare is an original tire. Logos inside of the truck are magnets only, and remove instantly. Used only a couple times a year for veteran's parade, weddings etc. Truck now sits with just 69k original miles

Truck is now located in central California. Our goal has been just to maintain, and not restore this piece of history My family is moving to east coast so the move force the sale.
