yea i heard about that scary---
there may be some and i have heard tales of sightings mostly offshore they like cold water and the water here is a tad cooler than luke warm
that said there are tiger sharks hammers bulls and all the rest
when i first started surfing here i wanted to surf playa hermosa when i lived up in the central valley when i was in the flower biz and the and met a fellow at my son s elementary school who surfed but he would not surf hermosa cuz everytime he went he got chased out by sharks or so he said--it can be a heavy beach surf wise
but we don t seem em much anymore cuz the local fishermen and the japs fish em out
we do see crocs in the ocean--the 2nd day i saved the guy from drowning their were sightings of a croc in the lineup
i don t really like to swim in the ocean unless i am diving so i can see what is going on and would much rather be on a bd paddling around in the ocean the folks i pushed to the beach i put them on the bd. and pushed them to the beach swiming behind them and i was not comfortable!!!
