The transmission with straight cut gears and the one with helical cut gears have different bolt patterns and are not a direct bolt in unless the helical transmission is from a M37. The M37 NP 420 apparently has a casting number of 88671. I can not find the casting number for the NP430 from a PW. Based on the casting number of 93931 on yours, it is not a M37 transmission so you will need to change the bell housing.

Go to jobrated.com, which is DC’s web site. He has pictures that will help you identify what you have.

Go to his bell housing page and the top photo shows the bolt pattern differences that I mentioned. It looks as if the upper right hole is in a different location. The M37 has the same bolt pattern as the straight cut gear PW transmission. This bolt pattern was used in the WC trucks so the military kept it in the M37 for interchangeability.

Also look at DC’s transmission page to look at his pictures of the transmissions. That should help you.
