Your 56 should have been 12volt from the factory. So the gauges should be 12 volt.

I am looking at a painless fuse block and it’s installation instructions.

The gauges will be powered off the dash b+ terminal on the painless block.

The temperature gauge is not powered so no connection is needed.

The amp meter needs to before the fuse block if you want to see amps for the whole system. I would take the output wire from the amp meter and connect it to the bat feed terminal on the fuse block which is the power feed to the fuse block.

The painless installation instructions are quite clear where to hook up the individual circuits.
