Glad to hear you are using red rubber grease on the cylinders. I was going to recommend it to you otherwise. It's my latest obsession for brake systems.
I've been rebuilding the NEW wheel cylinders on my 6x6 that have started to leak due to sitting for 6 years. Moisture was getting behind the dust covers and working its way past the pistons to the seals. There it would create a little ring of rust right at the seal lip. Every time I stepped on the brake it would leak a little fluid. The red rubber grease keeps the water outside of the piston. Problem solved.
