Budd catalogs from the 1950s show the 16” x 5.50F” wheels, both SRW and DRW, are spec’d for either 7.00” or 7.50” tires. The 16” x 6.50H” wheels, SRW and DRW, are spec’d for either 8.25” or 9.00” tires. These citations agree with the below chart from the 1958 Tire and Rim Association, Inc, Year Book. Interesting, though, the current Universal Vintage Tire Catalog shows the 7.50” okay for the 6.50” rim. I think I’d rely on the old industry references. Stu
