I might get sour results from this, but I have several friends who have been bitterly disappointed with the quality and the expediency of care through the VA. Fortunately, when I was general contracting, I got a Blue Cross policy for my wife and me. When I became eligible for Medicare, I signed up. I have had 3 major abdominal surgeries, 3 hernia repairs, total of 4 months of chemotherapy, 6 radiation treatments, and numerous CT and Pt scans. All of this has been done very professionally and very quickly. I take no medication at all, mainly because when they have offered it (Hydrocodone or Oxycodone) I have refused it. I just hope Medicare doesn't get scrapped along with so many other things that have been going away, because it's all a lot of people have.
