One spring my wife told me a bird had made a nest in one of our chimneys. They were noisey and she wanted them removed. But when I got up there I found an owl with two chicks...I left them alone and told the wife I would put chicken wire up there after they grew up and left. Over the next two months or so those owls must have eaten 150 mice! Apparently they eat the whole mouse and then barf up a slimey pellet of hair and bones... I had to pick these up because one of my dogs loved to eat them....
I built a large bird house on a pole hoping to get an owl to move in, but no luck.
