One of our Dist.# 8 Volunteer Fire Fighters was burned last night with 2nd and 3rd degree burns and flown to Harbor View Burn Center. He wants to come home today so that is a good sign. Dam no fire is worth getting burned up on! This is all I know about it at this time and won't say his name. Sure like to know what went wrong and how this happen. There will be a full investigation and all will come out in the end. This has happen once before a long time ago when 2 of our guys were blown over by the Virginia Lake Complex Fire but they were lucky they were not burned. I had walked the same dozer in and was burned out and said you need to have someone else do it I am too tired and then it happen! It could have been me but for some reason I was spared? Luck of the draw I guess?
