Clearance for one thing--I don't have little hands and getting the old one out without removing anything around it was a b.
Another thing, before the original failed, no matter how hard I pushed, it would take three or four tries to engage the flywheel. I know the electromagnetic solinoids can be that way too but it least you don't keep on stomping for "historical preservation".
'Just for curiosity, hopefully none of these starters have to have a variety of alignment shims like some older GM's did?
