Brass hood rivets from Bill Garland

While cleaning up a 47 WDX hood, I noticed that both passenger side hood side
lock assembly's were fastened with brass rivets. The drivers side are
fastened with steel rivets. I'm thinking this came from the factory this way
for some reason as the hood still bares the original paint?
