But he was very active in the 30's, too. He spearheaded the push for auto plants to convert for the war effort, which they fought. He survived two assasination attempts -some people don't like unions- but died in a plane crash in 1970.
I'm a member of the UAW.
And Monterey is a long ways from Black Lake, which is the closest thing to Reuther museum that I know of..
