one of my tricks is to jam a rag around the tank inlet and stick an air nozzle in the inlet. Another old trick is to run a glass inline filter close to the tank, minus the filter.
You will get another chance, do not get frustrated. I soldered up the front seam on my radiator yesterday and have yet to test it, Just another thing to deal with.
