So I popped the top off the rad shroud - I modified the bolts and fixed nuts so they can be accessed without taking half the front end apart. Remove the grill and then remove the four bolts - i suspect getting it back together will be a challenge.
Does the stock upper tank have a curve where it meets the radiator core or is it flat? I know it is flat along the back seam but is it flat across the front or does the tank curve upwards?
Mine curves up about 3/8" of an inch- I am starting to think my first impression of the workmanship on the radiator was correct - it was far from quality. The paint along the front seam has to be 1/8th thick, cleaning that out will be a challenge.
Sure would be nice to get quality work out of someone at some point.

If you have your truck apart I would do the shroud modification. Took about 15 minutes to get the top of the shroud off, it might be faster with a ratchet wrench.

take care

Bruce
