Friday I listened really carefully to the snick snick snick sound coming out of the engine area. It seemed like it was coming from the generator. So I called Dino, generator guy, and he was all "They do that, nothing you can do about it. Nature of the beast."

"Fine, one down". Next I decided to go for a long enough drive to get everything warmed up and really be able to tell what I was hearing. Because, when its cold, things are pretty much quiet under there. And, it always seems sound and act different when it warms up. Dropped by an Army truck friend's place to see if he had a nice sized ammo box.

And he did! But the more interesting part is that he was heading out to the Arlington air show with his 5ton rig for the weekend airshow camp out. Did I want to convoy down with him? Long story short, about 2..3 hours later we, Julie & I, were loaded with camping gear and convoying down to Arlington with him. Maybe a hour or so drive.

My place to his place, back to my place then out heading south for the show. I'm maybe an hour and a half into driving and I suddenly noticed.. Its not so bad. Now, why is it not so bad? Because for once I've relaxed and not totally focused on every little noise and vibration coming from the truck.

We bombed along at around 45 and really, everything was fine.

So, for now I'm going to call it good enough. Fresh oil in the engine & gearboxes add some to the steering box and go.

P.S. We met and camped with the Canadian army truck group. They'd driven their trucks from all over in Canada, then down about half of the off-road route that we're planning on taking next week. I felt small, wimpy and insignificant. But they did give us Canadian pins! It made us feel like we got a little acceptance from the bad assed Canadian army truck group.

So we're quite proud of our little Canadian pins!
