I think there is over 50 parts to my swing out carrier. The end result looks simple and would take only a few hours perhaps a day to build. I hate to admit I am on day 4. Did a few other things during those days. went on a parade and pick dup a truck. Only got off track once, I spent about 2hrs on one part and then figured out how much work was involved and the went in another direction. If I keep at it i should have it done tomorrow except for paint and the finishing detail. I have a marble reflector that was given to me by a friend who passed away a few weeks ago. I have had the reflector for years but never had a place for it and honestly thought it looked too big and out of place.
I am pleased to say that it fits in the centre of the spare tire on the mount. That marble reflector makes the carrier look finished and like it was planned to be there. I need to machine a mount to hold it in place because now I would feel bad about loosing the thing on a back road. it is also nice to be reminded of my good friend Alvie each time I walk by the truck.
Some things are meant to be.
