Hi Joe.

Here is a link to my image event site with information and pictures on the 1942 WC-11 Panel Body Cargo Trucks including Phil Huffman's beautifully restored WC-11 taken at last week's MVPA show. There were 612 WC-11s made and 103 WC-19s made. In addition to the differences noted below, the WC-11s had louvered blackout lights integral to the headlights, whereas the WC-19s had regular blackout lights mounted on the fenders. Marble reflectors are shown on WC-19s whereas all factory photos I have seen of WC-11s had the flat lenses with swirls. Differences in tires, from road tread to chevron tread, are also noted. If I remember correctly, the WC-19 had larger rear brake drums. I will confirm.

The WC-42 had several differences. Most notably, it had a twelve volt electrical system for radio equipment. It also had a roof vent, side antennae mount, rear curtains, a curtain between the driver and cargo areas, and operator seats in the cargo body. It also had a hooded driver side blackout headlight and passenger side headlight delete.

The definitive information can be found in David Doyle's book: "U.S. Dodge - The Development and Deployment of Dodge Military Trucks 1940-1975". I am indebted to David and to VPWs for the photos and information. Some of my favorite photos are the panel trucks in a box for shipping!
