That was a pretty cool race though, pitting different purpose bikes against each other. They should have started them all side-by-side on the same line though. If they would have done that, the dirt bikes would have gotten the hole-shot hands down. They almost did anyway.
I was impressed how the dirt bikes held their own. The lead dirt bike almost stole third place from the trailing crotch rocket. The dirt bikes were actually making up time in the corners and only loosing distance to the crotch rockets on the straightaways.
#5 was riding what appeared to me to be a modified Speedway Bike. It looks like his tall stance with a lot of wind drag was working in his favor by weighting the rear tire, along with it being very skinny, he was cutting the asphalt like a knife. Once he took the lead, he just cruised away with it. And then, when the crotch rocket pulled a wheelie in the shakedown lap, the dirt bike guy said - hah, that's nothing, watch this!
Pretty cool.
