It has been a while since my carb troubleshooting days so I'll ask you folks for some quick opinions. I had put a new fuel pump in my '47 WDX not long ago since the sediment bowl liked to drip. Yesterday I "ran out" of gas. Walked up to the house and put a coulpe gallons in. Still nothing. Popped the top of the carb and no gas in the bowl, needle not stuck. Changed out the pump because I thought maybe the crud from the tank clogged it up ( haven't looked into that part yet). With the old pump and a few dripps down the throat it fired right up. Now the question: what causes the hunting (going from just about stall to a fast idle. back to stall etc.)? It also runs better with the choke applied. THink I got some debris in a jet but before I yank it out... Thanks.
