As far as braking goes,it will be a personal choice in the end.
I rebuilt the master and wheel cylinders on my 64'WM-300 back in 86'. It was great to have good brakes finally and they seemed adequit for the use it got. I have done the same to my 2nd 64'WM300 I acquired since then except that it has a vac-brake booster but only a single res. M/S like my first WM.
I drove Alabama AL's 67'WM300 with dual res. and vac-brake booster. It was night and day difference with slight brake pedal pressure bringing me up off the seat until I got used to it. I will say I believe that setup would rival a single res. w/caliper brake setup in an unloaded truck. So a dual res. mastercylinder w/caliper brake setup would be even better for braking a loaded truck.
Now this is with only a front caliper setup w/rear drum brakes with the rear drums causing the front to take most of the braking abuse.
I guess for the ultimate braking, a front and rear caliper brake setup using a dual M/S res. would be it.
What you need to decide is, how much braking do I really need and/or how much you want to spend or can afford.
