I can't tell you blindly from this distance if it is the same governor. The WDX governor is a King-Seeley brand Handi Servo Governor model 26510 414 with Chrysler part number 1189749 stamped into the same model ID tag on the top of the governor. Welder governors typically are installed to run at one fixed speed as opposed to adjustable variable speeds, so it may not be the same variable speed model as used on the WDX. But if it is the correct model governor, or could be made to work at variable speeds, I'd get it NOW with the 251 and sell the welder to your friend for around $300 (split the entire cost with him, each take your own useful half).
