I have a '79 Dodge Power Wagon with a 3-speed auto. Like you I blew the tranny and had to do some research. The transmission you have is a model 727 Torgue Flight. Dodge had 2 types of this 727 a model A and a model B. One of the models I beleive the model A was for smallblock engines (318/360) and the Model B for the Bad Boy 440. However you can convert the Model A or B to work on a smallblock or bigblock by changing the Tail Shaft/adapter out on the tranny. Now as far as the overdrive goes I couldnt tell you without doing extensive research but if you give Jet Performance Products a call (Tech 714-848-5515 or write 17491 Apex circle, Dept.
