Years ago a friend of mine, with wife and 2 kids was out of work for a while. He hated doing it, but he applied for food stamps. He ended up getting a job within a couple of months. He reported to the food stamp center that he was working and didn't need them any longer. They continued to come. He went in and tried to turn them in, explaining that he was working and had asked for them to be cancelled. The person he spoke with said that couldn't be done and he should just keep them. He explained that his conscience would bother him to keep them if he didn't deserve them. The person then proceeded to ridicule him for not just keeping them and actually got po'd at him for trying to make her job harder. :)
